There are many important things you as an individual need to look at to be an effective note taker. For most people, right handed people, the pen quality, if the ink is fast drying or slower, how easily the ink smears doesn't really matter a whole lot.For left handed people, like me, it makes a huge difference. There are also a large number of criteria that a pen has to met for me to be just right.
For instance, I can not use gel pens without the ink smearing all over the page. I also need to have a ball point pen due to left handed people push along the paper where right handed people tend to pull/drag the pen along the paper. I also will not be winning any best penmanship awards any time so I have to have a pen that will not smear at all so that the small differences between my a's and o's or my e's and c's stand out. I also need it to be a click pen so that i can open the pen one handed if needed for easier access while i am taking out my note book at the same time. I also need the clip on the pen to be strong enough to stay in the pocket without falling out, while also being able to be easily taken out without pulling or snagging on my uniform. I also would prefer it to have a grip on it so that if i am writing with my handing being sweaty or wet, furthermore the pen can not have to much grip or so large of a grip that it gets caught on my uniform as it is being taken out of the pocket. I would prefer the pen to not cost so much that i will be having to take out a loan on my car in order to buy more pens because I will lose them. There is also a Crime scene tech joke that you can tell how old a tech is by how cheap his pens are, the cheaper, the older he is because they have realized that all of the gross stuff from the crime scene that is on your gloves is on your pen now too because you were just writing your report with the same gloves on. With that in mind, I would like to have a pen that i can buy in reasonable bulk and that will not cost an arm and a leg, that i will have no issues with throwing away or not getting back from someone at the end of the day.
Now I have tried every pen that you can find in the pen section of Walmart, CVS, Walgreen's, and other store that i would normally think of selling pens. The closest thing that i had found was a pen that had a very weak clip that would routinely break off and would also bleed through the page. I thought this is what I would have to deal with, I thought this was as good as it got. Then came the day this semester that i stumbled into the Target pen and pencil section, not thinking that it would be any different than the other big box stores. I was so wrong, the paper mate Ink joy gel 0.7 mm medium point pen came to my rescue. This pen has everything that I could have ever wanted. The thickness of the ink that comes out is a bit to bit for me, but during my research on amazon, I found that it comes in a fine point variation with a 0.5 mm fine point tip. I have already ordered on amazon prime a box of 12.

Yes, the pen is mightier than the sword, but the pen needs some paper to write on. I know there are countless different sizes of pages and bindings. Like I said before, my penmanship is probably making my grammar school teachers shaking their heads. Having my paper ruled is a must, I am far to sloppy to not have it ruled. I also like to have a many many replacements so that I am not worried about flipping to a new page, writing an address or phone number and giving it to someone without worrying about tearing other pages out, along with not thinking of how much that one sheet of paper cost. Like with most things, I buy them in bulk so that they are cheaper that way. I have found that again Target is where I have been able to find the best supplies for law enforcement. I have found for me that the 3x5 in. memo pads work the best for me and fit into my uniform picket the best. Again, taking a little bit of time, I have found that on amazon, I can buy them much cheaper and with more ease.

I hope this will help some people on choosing their best note taking pen and paper for law enforcement writing.
Now for normal note taking that is not for law enforcement, I prefer the legal pad with normal ruled 8.5x11 ruled paper for a number of reasons. the biggest plus for someone that is a left handed writer is that I do not have to have a metal spiral dig into my arm half the time i am writing notes. The second reason for me is that they are much cheaper and easier to find on the weeks when school starts and everyone and their mother is buying up the ruled notebooks.

London Attack
The link bellow is to the BBC news article about the victims of the terrorist attack that happened this Wednesday.
http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-39363933
As far as I am aware of, the attacker, who's name I will not share so he will never be remembered, drove a van/truck on the sidewalk of the bridge closest to the Parliament building. After driving across the bridge and eventually stopping, started attacking a police officer with a knife. The officer did die from his wounds. The attacker was, as far as I am aware of, was shot and taken into custody.
This entire attack is horrible and extremely scary. For me what is more scary is that there was no really feasible way for this attack to have been prevented without infringing upon the people's rights even more. The government can't ban cars or trucks. The economy would completely collapse. So just give the drivers a background check in order to get a drivers license, Right? Wrong, for a few reasons. These being that you not having a license doesn't instantly make a person unable to drive a car, further more, you can very easily make a fake ID with your own picture and everything. The only issue is when you were to give it to an officer, they would know it is a fake. However, that doesn't really matter when you are already planning on dying in your attack. You don't have to worry about having a fake ID when you're dead.
There are countless news sources covering this story right now. If you are interested in reading more, I would encourage you to look up the London terrorist attack on Google.

VICE video response
If you also look at the locations that the people are polled from, each individual person comes from a different location in the states. As most of us are well aware, the laws in each state can vary greatly. Even certain ordinances are different from town to town in a county, like Cook County. Each town has it's own level of crime and what the police are allowed to do and how to act is dictated by the department, which is run by the town management. I would make a pretty reasonable assumption that the people interviewed for this video were not talking about the federal police, like the FBI/DEA/ATF.
When the man from Mexico said that police should only be armed with tasers, I silently laughed to myself knowing that, that will never happen. Take a look at the UK which has an almost complete gun ban, except that of farmers who need to defend their livestock from wolves and what not. A large number of the police do not carry any firearms at all and are armed with tasers and batons, however the police still have groups that are armed with guns to deal with more dangerous threats that a simple taser or club can fix. If you were to look at the current state of the police in the who European Union, they are much more heavily armed. This is happening in countries where it is extremely difficult to even touch a gun. Most people do not realize how heavily armed police officers are on a day to day basis. I know from my experience with law enforcement through a wide variety of departments and friends and family. Every single one of the carries their standard pistol, along with having a rifle with multiple magazines for that rifle in their trunk. Some departments even will give the officers a shotgun, along with their rifle to carry in their squad car.
The question that is posed to me by the video is 'do i trust the police' and the simple answer is yes. That could expected mostly because I am planning and already taking steps to become the police, so it would be quite silly for me not to trust the police. I don't trust the police just because I want to be the police, I trust the police because I understand why they are doing what they are doing. If that same knowledge was given to the general public, the tension between police and people would go down. because knowing is half the battle.

20 golden principles
Policeone's article on their site about 20 golden principles in order to be a better cop
https://www.policeone.com/Officer-Safety/articles/319405006-20-golden-principles-for-prevailing-on-the-street/
I read through all of these and it is truly a great list of rules to go by. Even if you are NOT in law enforcement or some form of enforcement, these are all great ideals to work by.
There isn't much to talk about with this article, except me hoping that you go and read this article. I have also posted it on the twitter thing.
OK, thats about it.

Navajo Nation Office Killed
Navajo Nation officer killed.
http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/03/12/navajo-nation-police-officer-shot-killed-responding-to-domestic-violence-call.html
New Mexico's Gov. statement of "I'm confident the monster who took this brave officer from us will face the full measure of justice." Coming from someone that is looking at the government for support of LEOs (Law Enforcement Officers), I am very happy with the New Mexico Governor's stance on the hurting and attacking of the LEOs in her state or neighboring states, or LEO's in general
I believe that the heads of governing bodies have a massive role to play in supporting the local and other forms of law enforcement through out the country. The death of Officer Largo, 27, with 5 years on the force is a horrible tragedy. He was responding to a call for a domestic disturbance, which is one of the most dangerous and most common calls that law enforcement go on. Most people don't realize that domestic calls are extremely dangerous. The LEO is going into someone else's house who is already agitated. The suspects know the house much better than the officer ever will, along with the dispatcher, most of the times, doesn't have much information to transfer to the officer due.
What is the most tragic thing of this story is that sadly, Officer Largo will have his funeral, maybe flags hung at half mast in his home town or across the state. However, his number will be added to the much to long list of officers killed in action through out the years.
I hope that publishing this blog will help Officer Largo longer in more than just the heavy hearts of his loved ones and co-workers.
